Mee Bakso

My first cooking this. Tekak terasa sangat nak makan. Tepon Wak Na for recipe. There isn't any beef meatball in the freezer so I made do with chicken meatball. Ok la tu haha

I was so malas to buat sambal kicap cili padi. As a result, I added lotsa pounded black pepper instead hehe

Verdict : sedap! but would have been better with beef meatballs..there's always other times insyaAllah :))

Co-location Briefing

Attended the co-location briefing this morning in school. Come 2013, Madrasah Al Irsyad will operate fully as an institution for primary students.

All secondary students will be co-located to Madrasah Aljunied. However, they'll remain Irsyadians, as they will still don Irsyad's uniform. Among other things that will not change are such as the curriculum, teachers, fees. Present secondary students will still be sitting for STE exams. The remaining P5 & P6 of 2012 will also continue to sit for STE. P4 of 2012 are the pioneer batch of JMS - Joint Madrasah System. I'm not so sure if there will still be any STE for Kakak by the time she's in sec4 coz the curriculum might change with JMS.

Irsyadians gotta adapt to some changes while in Aljunied premises. Teachers & students of Irsyad will be occupying the whole of level 3 in Madrasah Aljunied. 12 classrooms in all, 2 of which will be converted to male & female staff rooms. There will be only 1 recess time for Irsyadians in Aljunied, unlike the 2 they have in Irsyad. No staying back in Aljunied's premise after 5.30pm. All male Irsyadians will be wearing long sleeve shirts, which at present, only student leaders are wearing them.

Irsyad will continue to follow MOE school year calendar where all public holidays for Irsyad will be the same as that of secular schools. Whereas, Aljunied will still observe important Islamic dates on their school year calendar as their holidays. As such, Irsyad is still discussing on canteen vendors' matters.

Song & Song vs Uniqlo

Verdict is, I got half the price of those equivalent, if any, at Song & Song. And I'm one happy lady haha Seriously, why pay more when you can get something similar or close to what you want? Moral of the story is, mesti nak pandai carik lah & you don't have to buy expensive things to look good! :P

It would have cost me double or even more at Uniqlo for these woollen & fleece sweaters/ pullovers. TQ Song & Song for saving that would-be-hole in my pocket hehehe

Bapak's Good!

Been a week since the last we paid Mak & Bapak a visit. Wasn't quite well for the past week..migraine lerr >.<

Cooked mee siam kering for Mak today. We left home much earlier than usual & decided not to let Teha sleep when she arrived.

Bapak's doing great alhamdulillah and was in a good mood all the time we were there :)) If it wasn't because of the condition he is now, he would have been happy playing with Teha.

I'm loving the instant goreng pisang that Mak served us earlier. They were delish!! And Wak Na came down to pass me my 3 packets of the instant goreng pisang that I had asked her to buy on the day she went to Larkin with Wak Lin.

STE ~ Sijil Thanawi Empat

Today is IT!! Abang and all the Sec4 students will be sitting for their STE exams and Mama is feeling the jitters. Everything khair, insyaAllah.

Nasi Ayam Bangla

Cooked Nasi Ayam for lunch today. It ain't a recipe I got from any aBanglas..haha ok k the chicken looks Bangla though. That's the result  you'll get when you choose to marinate your chicken in light soy sauce. Tastes great tau! Jangan pandang pada rupa hokay!! :D 

The plan was to go out with Kakak. But her 'nak tido sekejap' looks like 'tido sampai petang'. Hence, this food entry. I'm bored, yeah haha

Jeruk!! slurrppp!!

The last I ate jeruk kedondong was at Kak Nopiah's place. Not one, not two but four! haha peberet la weiii and long time no eat maaa haha 

Zila gave these to me; a packet of jeruk kedondong and mangga each. Unlike the ones I ate at Kak Nopiah's, these have that 'sakit tekak taste' and 'bole-tersedak-bila-makan' effect lol!! To rid that effect, I washed the whole jeruk lightly before soaking them in a container of hot sugary water hehehe Amazingly, I got the taste I wanted...sedap oii slurrpp!! haha

Hayyan Muhyiddin & Iz Munzir

Just for the records, Hayyan and Iz had left for Kuwait yesterday, a first for Hayyan. Iz will be returning to Kuwait after his long semester break. Both will be continuing their secondary education in Kuwait. May Allah grant them both with ilm benefitting them dunya wa akhirah, insyaAllah ameen.

Adek wanted so much to send them off at the airport yesterday so much so he seeked his Ustaz's permission to let him off for the day from attending his Tahfiz lesson. :))

At Last!

Didn't quite know what really happened that took the teachers way too long to release the CA results for the P4 students. I somehow gathered that some of the students' marks were jumbled up. Kakak's was affected too. Received the results a week ago only to return to the teacher for amendments. Alhamdulillah, mistakes were amended and results were returned to students yesterday. Kakak did fairly well, alhamdulillah. Marha marha Kakak! <3

Not that she already knows them all, but she's still trying to get familiar with them, shapes and colours. And she enjoys playing with those ice cream sticks :D

Dental Appointment

Sent Kakak and Adek for their dental appointment earlier this morning. Brought Teha along. Alhamdulillah the long wait didn't make her feel restless as there were many toys to play with at the waiting area.

Kakak's session took about one & half hours while Adek's lasted more than two hours. Ya Allah that's the longest time in their dental appointment history. Naik ngantok!! yawnzzz

It was almost 12pm by the time we left HPB. Decided to let them go home instead of heading to school...considering time for lunch, solat & journey to school, it would be almost time for school dismissal upon their arrival. Waste karen arr..tkpe la nanti Mama write a letter apart from the excuse chit from school dental. Furthermore Mama pity Adek who's gotta go to MKS this evening.

I know he can do it! He's always been special to me..in his own way :) Everything went well for him today at Masjid Kampung Siglap alhamdulillah. May Allah guide him throughout the program, insyaAllah ameen. Oh and yes, he managed to memorise surah at Tur today, alhamdulillah :))

YTS ~ Young Tahfiz Scholar

Today marks the 1st day of YTS program (Program Cendekiawan Tahfiz Muda). Adek is set to sail on this journey. Mama is as anxious though he's been in Sijil Tahfiz program for a few years now, this time round it's totally different, totally intensive. Darul Qur'an has targeted a period of two and a half years for these 20 selected students to finish memorising the Qur'an.

As of today, Adek will make his way to Darul Qur'an @Masjid Kampung Siglap 3 times in a week, right after school till after Isya'. And probably will be home only after 10.30pm. Ya Allah, how tough can that be!! Balancing school work with YTS program. May Allah make it easy for him, insyaAllah. May he be given the strength; physically, emotionally & spiritually, insyaAllah ameen!! To all reading, please make du'a for him, jazakAllah!!

Wak Sidek bought this and it's meant for Bapak :)) According to the nurse at the hospital, these blocks and such would somehow help to slow down the rate of dementia in Bapak, insyaAllah. Bapak enjoyed playing this with Atin after his lunch earlier today :))

Just for the record, Pak Long, Mak Long and Wak Misah came to visit Bapak today.

Class

It was really good to be back to our Fardhu Ain class with Ustaz Hafiz after a long break. Lyn sms-ed. She, Jik & Busu couldn't join us this week. Perhaps next week, insyaAllah.

It tickled me much when Aqi told us about what Shadi had said "Dini tu cucu awak kan?!" lol!! betolnye candi budak tu..hannan lom pon skolah camner Ustaz ley ade cucu hehe Anyway Kakak said Shadi is always 'loud' in school hehehe

Alhamdulillah It's Friday!

It's Friday; penghulu segala hari. Everything went well today, alhamdulillah. Ifan's mum invited Inah to her crib for raya. She hesitated and was so reluctant to go. So, being the concerned (not kpo eh..haha) makcik, I offered to accompany her. Ya Allah dua2 nerbes giler lol!! satu pat sini, satu pat mesir hahaha Yang pat sini, tak tentu rase, nak terkucil la, nak terberak la bila da sampai..yang pat sana cakap "macam nak demam ar" hahaha ..Ok k that aside, we felt so welcome :))

Ifan's mum prepared lunch for us. Alhamdulillah, memang so timely..lapar dok journey peh la jaoh dari CCK to Tampines..rezeki jangan ditolak hehehe We stayed for quite abit and had our zuhr prayer there afterwhich we took a cab and headed to Mak's. Wak Ni, Sarah, Iman & Cha were there too.

Kak Mon, Ayie & family came in the late afternoon. Lil Zahrah is so adorable, sebijik muka bapak dia!! Had a good time reminiscing those times in West Coast. Anak Wak Man & Wak Cik da jadi Bapak!! hee

Kakak and Friends went Bowling

Kakak went bowling at Safra Yishun with her friends and ex teacher, Cikgu Diana yesterday. It was the 2nd time they went out together, the 1st being ice skating outing at JCube. Given the weight of the bowling ball, it's no surprise when kakak said her fingers sakit coz berat lol!! Nevertheless, she got the highest point in their 1st game..chey not bad la kan for someone who is the shortest among all hehe :))

Adek's Friends in the house!

Seen them grow since they were in P1. MasyaAllah how time flies! 8 years and still counting, except for Husnil, who's now in Madrasah Wak Tanjung, they've grown up together in Irsyad. And eversince they started their 1st jalan raya, never once they fail coming to our crib. Some are shy as ever, some are jokers & banyak colok especially zakir aka obama aka mat kebal lol! & some are the sons of ustaz (ustaz hanif, ustaz kamaruzzaman, ustaz azmi) Above all, they are truly a nice bunch of young men :))

Hayyan, left, will be joining Iz to further his studies in Kuwait. Iz is having his semester break and will be back in Kuwait soon. I'm so proud of them with the fact that they are among the few students from different Madrasah chosen to study in Kuwait, alhamdulillah :)

Abang had his STE Arabic oral yesterday & he said he managed to answer all questions, alhamdulillah.  It will be Qur'an oral today. May Allah guide him thru' till end of exams in early October, insyaAllah ameen.

Raya Visits

We started our day early today. Left home at about almost 9.30am. Met up with Wak Lin & family at Admiralty MRT before heading to Kak Ida's crib. Yati & family were already there when we arrived.

Kak Ida's anak2 bujang really impressed me. The bee hoon goreng & chicken wraps were all prepared by them & they were masyaAllah sedap!! Lupa ar nak snap pix at Kak Ida's.

Ustaz Hafiz's crib is within walking distance from Kak Ida's. The boys walked while the girls. Wak Lin & Wak Sid tompang Abang Nan's car. Rasanya, jalan lagik cepat hee tapi takpe la, lau tak tak dapat rase naik keter Abang Nan hehehe

The children had fun at Ustaz's; main bunga api lagik! Hannan happy giler ramai kawan :)) It was a meaningful open house at Ustaz's..more of a majlis silaturrahim cum tazkirah, with food for the body & soul, alhamdulillah!

We decided to have our Zuhr prayer at Ustaz's before heading to Mak Ati's. Wak Lin & family stayed too and we went our separate ways after that. Hannan wanted to follow us at the time of leaving..da babai Ummi Abah sumer hehe so cute!

Reached Mak Ati's place around 2.30pm. Cik Maznah & family were there too. None from hub's side were already there..biasela tu, standard..met Lyn, suker sangat!! Lyn voiced her interest to join Ustaz Hafiz's class, alhamdulillah. Jik & Busu ( our halaqah sisters) might wanna join too, insyaAllah. Alhamdulillah! I'm sure Ustaz would be happy to have them :))

Liyana & Wak Ru came jus as we were about to leave Mak Ati's. Wak Pon was in another cab & came a lil later so no chance of meeting. But ok jugak la, tkde memekak je nanti aku kena marah tak gi rumah dia smalam haha

We went to Mak & Bapak's crib after Mak Ati's. Abang Lolit & Kak Leha was there..lama tak jumpa dia..Then shortly, Wak Jarah & children came. The boys wanted to go home earlier coz Abang will be having his STE Arabic oral tomorrow. Decided to stay for a lil longer with Kakak in case more guests coming. At about 6.30pm, Kak Rose & Wak Odin came. Since Wak Na turun jugak, we decided to make a move.
