Jalan2 JB, Makan2 & Get Fat

It was Chinese New Year's eve and we decided to have a siblings' day out, a day sponsored by niece, Mirah hehehe It wasn't full force though coz it was only 3 out of six of us who went. And what better way to have good, cheap food that's nearer from home than going across the causeway.

And so we settled for City Square, a stone's throw away from the CIQ. We started our day only after solat zohor as we were not expecting any traffic congestion. True enough, the bus journey from Kranji MRT & customs clearance was truly a breeze alhamdulillah.

It was way past lunch time and Wak Na's as well as Kakak Yah's stomach were already playing the keroncong beat kekeke so first up was finding a makan place, which wasn't difficult at all. Kakak Yah wanted to have something western, so we settled for Secret Recipe, not a problem, as it was her treat anyway :)

So, it was Thai seafood spaghetti for Wak Na, fish & chips for Wak In, crispy chicken & chips for Kakak Yah and Thai style fried rice for myself. Happy tummies made happy aunties hahaha

Walked abit after lunch to Popular bookstore, Cotton-on, FOS bla bla bla before going to Baskin Robbins for ice-creams. We were so full already tapi nak jugak makan ice-cream so share je la hahah

Went over to J-co for donuts, Subway for sandwiches and Rotiboy Shoppe for buns to bring back home. Before leaving for CIQ, we stopped over for asar at the CIQ musollah. Again, journey back home was a breeze and it was just the right time for maghrib upon reaching home, alhamdulillah.

Thank you so much Kakak Yah & Wak Na for the treat and Wak In too for the fabulous siblings' day out. We should do it more often, with the rest the next time, insyaAllah :))

Beijing 2012 : Nanshan Ski Village

Our day started as early as yesterday. Again, subway trips, changing lines to I-forgot-the-station-name hahaha Upon reaching the station, we walked abit to the place where a bus that we had made bookings with, was waiting to ferry us to Nanshan Ski Village. We gonna have a whole day at Nanshan coz the bus would only fetch us at 5.30pm. The journey to Nanshan took about one and a half hour. The bus & entrance tickets to Nanshan had been paid to the bus conductor who collected our money along the journey.

Reached Nanshan, bought tickets for ski equipment for 3 persons, Mal, Adek & Kakak. Abit chaotic la coz the deposit to be paid mahal sangat for 5 persons so we settled for 3 persons je. Afterall later on ley ganti2 main. Made payments for hiring an instructor for 2 hrs too. 

In all, we had 4 hrs of fun skiing, Kakak especially. Kakak's a fast learner. Pandai sey dia ski :)) Mama tergolek-golek jatoh hahaha 

Abang wanted to try to ski so much so I let him & of coz with very very close supervision by Abang Mal & Mama. Alhamdulillah he got to try to ski & didn't feel so bored waiting.

We decided not to wait for the bus and to leave earlier on our own. Lau stay lama kang kejong plak satu2 hehehe so we hired a car yes, bargain ar sampai driver agreed to amek all 6 of us in one car hahaha Alighted at a bus station where we took bus no 980 to one of the subway station. As usual, made a stop for makan. It was at a restaurant close to Beijing Hotel in a more up-market area. Dinner was all the time considerably CHEAP!! tu pasal la kite enjoy makan2 pat Beijing :)

Walked abit around the area after dinner. 

There was this place very similar to Bugis Street in Singapore. Time to bargain lagik!! hehehe best arr!! And my best bargain here was for a teapot which originally priced at 85 Yuan but I got it for 30 Yuan which is equivalent to S$6 yey! suka suka suka!! Ok k kaki da cramp, we left soon after, taking subway again back to the hotel.
