Making something bad from something good?

I agree with what Ustaz Fadli Ayub had posted on his FB timeline.

"I am all for dakwah and all other Islamic religious program, but for single women and young girls going out until late night, it does faze me, even if it's for the sake of good. I would prefer they stay at home and do the simple practices. Do not make your parents worry. For guys it is exceptional. Not double standards. This is where syaithan is playing with us. Making something bad from something good."

Anyhow, I do believe Syabab SG had done a very great job and they had indeed succeeded in pulling the so-called 'wild' youths to the masjid, alhamdulillah. I applauded them for their efforts. :))

However, I don't know, but I'm not in favour of the activities organised by be it Syabab SG, MOS, MCR of late. I'm far from against majlis in remembrance of our beloved Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. But of late, I see that these majlis that they organised looked somewhat like a 'pesta' :'( While I may still wanna attend various majlis selawat, or any of the likes, I'm firm with my stand, Islam itu satu penghayatan, bukan keramaian..wallahua'lam

I seek refuge in Allah from Syaitan, the accursed one.

As 2012 takes its leave..

As we usher in the year 2013, 2012 has indeed left us with too many memories. We experienced many 1st's in 2012.

Kakak's 1st Musabaqah Tahfiz competition at masjid An Nahdhah.

Adek's 1st featured in Berita Harian for the Sultan of Science competition.
 at The Science Centre.

Adek selected for the 1st YTS-Young Tahfiz Scholar program at MKS.

Abang's 1st admission to the hospital.

Abang's 1st (& hopefully his last too) major surgery at CGH.

Our 1st trip to Beijing, China.

Our 1st experience to see, touch & feel snow was the most memorable in 2012!

Alhamdulillah, all praises to Allah for these memories. Be it good or bad, for all the things Allah had blessed us with, shouldn't we be His thankful slaves? :') May 2013 make us better slaves to the One, insyaAllah ameen.

Places we've not been for awhile

Ayah suggested that we had lunch at Brickworks. It's been a very very long time since the last time I had lunch at the famous chicken rice stall at Brickworks estate, it being my fav chicken rice stall during my working days.

Razak never changed, a joker still. Midah dari dulu sampai sekarang keje dia potong ayam hehehe One of their kids, who was in Irsyad had asked for a transfer to secular school as he was not able to cope with the many subjects in Irsyad.

Once tummies were fed, we walked over to one of the oldest shopping center in Singapore, Queensway Shopping Center, in search of the kids' school bags. Ayah always insists on a good brand for their school bags as they could last longer. So Deuter it is for the boys & High Sierra for Kakak. Abang & Adek got themselves new sandals/slippers too.

For some reasons, Kakak wanted to go to Ikea after Queensway. Ayah agreed but we needed to go to Masjid Mujahidin, which is just a few bus stops away for zuhr prayer prior to that. Adek did not wish to join us to Ikea so he left after solat.

tired & pretending to be sleeping in the bus on the way to the masjid :D

Loving the canteen in the masjid compund. Many non Muslims were seen having their meals there too. Packed some food home for dinner later.

And so it was Ikea moment after solat. Kakak & Teha were the happiest. And yes, we left for home with 'never leave Ikea empty handed' faces haha

To Geylang

Ayah knocked off at 6pm yesterday so we decided to meet him at Geylang to get the boys' school songkok.

We reached earlier than Ayah and decided to wait for him at TKC. Headed straight to pasar Geylang foodstall for our dinner. Most stalls there were already closed but alhamdulillah for whatever food we managed to get for dinner.

Went to Masjid Khalid for Maghrib prayer before proceeding to Joo Chiat Complex.

It was really a first touch and go shopping for us as the closing hour for the shops there is at 8pm. Ingatkan kedai2 situ tutop kol 10pm. Tak chan aku nak browse lama2 >.< neways managed to grab 2 tudongs for myself and the boys' songkok. And the little Missy got herself another niqab. Yes, you heard me right. Allahu Rabbi she's so interested in niqab and would wanna wear that once she's older and ready..alhamdulillah may she do it for none other but Allah :')

ps : it's nothing new for me to privatise most of my photos in fb after a week or 2 sharing with friends..so if you are not able to view them anymore, i'm sorry...& latest beijing trip photos in fb are for families' eyes only :)

Jalan-jalan JB

Asked if they would wanna go JB today, but without Ayah. It was a definite yes from the the kids though Ayah gotta work today.

We left home at about 8.50am. Alhamdulillah traffic & customs clearance at the Woodlands immigration and CIQ JB was a breeze.

We walked past JB Sentral to get to City Square. The aroma that came from the Rotiboy Bakeshoppe was so inviting that we decided to stop by to get some original & mocha buns for a quick bite. The buns were delish, especially the mocha ones!!

Nothing much at City Square. Thought of buying the kids their black school shoes there but not many shops selling them. Got just a pair for Adek though.

Been a very very long time since the last I went to Kotaraya, that was when Abang was still a toddler. Lama tu! Hahaha Out of curiosity what Kotaraya looks like now, I convinced the kids that there would be something we could get from that old shopping mall. Disappointed sey! Kotaraya has a new look & name altogether. Except for 2 or 3 bags/shoes shops & eateries, this newly renovated so called Galleria at Kotaraya is obviously vacant! tkde benda pat situ haha padan ngan muka kita!

Ok relax tkpe, we walked back to City Square makan Tutti Frutti hilangkan penat hehe Actually memang da janji Kakak nak makan Tutti Frutti pat situ. Then we made a move, took a cab to Angsana.

Walked abit at Angsana. Got all of their school shoes alhamdulillah. Lunch was at Mary Brown's. Fast food, nothing new. Ok la ikotkn je janji kenyang.

Left Angsana after lunch. Took a cab to CIQ. Bought some more Rotiboy buns for Ayah from JB Sentral...chewing gums syhh tkmo bilang polis hahaha ikan bilis buns, keropok eh camtu pon enough to make them, kids happy alhamdulillah :))

Zuhr prayer at CIQ surau before leaving. Happy kids make a happy Mama, alhamdulillah :))

Kakak ended the day with ice-cream from the apek ice-cream outside yew tee station.

Follow up Check-up II

Today Ayah accompanied Abang for his check-up.

hotdog before check-up haha

MasyaAllah! Everything is as His will!! Dr Lai says Abang's progressing very well..his jaw bones growing fast. There's no need for gauze 'implant' till further notice..6mths, then 3mths, looks like recovery will take lesser than that now, alhamdulillah, thank You ya Rabb!!

Next check-up will be on 16th January 2013, insyaAllah.

Beijing 2012 : Niujie Mosque

12/12/12

We left for Niujie Mosque at about 11.30am. Took the subway and reached the station near Niujie before zuhr prayer.

Decided to return to the same place we went the previous time for lunch. Alhamdulillah we chose to eat first coz the restaurant would be closing at 2pm before opening again at 5 in the evening.

We walked to Niujie Mosque right after lunch and along the way, found nice spot for foto taking :)) Everything looked lovely in the snowy weather. Sampaikan pokok botak takde daon pon cantek hehehe

Being the largest and oldest mosque in Beijing, Niujie Mosque is a must-see place. It has an interior of intricate traditional chinese architecture with Arabic calligraphy. Its exterior too has traditional chinese architecture, with pagodas & pavilions which makes it look more like a Chinese temple than a mosque. The female prayer hall is quite a distance from the main prayer hall and the interior for both is quite similar.

Any muslim who visits Beijing just gotta get here coz I guess Niujie Mosque is a must in the itinerary of any Beijing Muslim Tour.

We left the mosque at about 4pm and proceeded to the Niujie Muslim Supermarket once again :)
